A 1976 SIU Automotive graduate, Mr. Swartz began his automotive career as a technician and service advisor in the retail sector. In 1978, he joined American Motors Sales Corporation (AMC) and progressed in positions such as District Service Manager and onto National Fleet Sales and Service Manager. In 1985, Mr. Swartz began his career with Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. as Planning Administrator where he developed service programs for Toyota dealers to help improve their level of service, customer convenience, and new service processes. Several promotions followed in positions such as National Manager, Service and Parts Sales Operations, Corporate Manager Administrative Services, Corporate Manager Business Development, and Corporate Manger North American Parts Operations. In Mr. Swartz’s current position as Vice President and General Manager of Toyota’s North American Parts Operations (NAPO), the NAPO group supports service parts and accessories procurement and fulfillment across North America and all export markets where North American-produced vehicles are sold. Mr. Swartz oversees a two-tier supply chain network, procurement, logistics, warehouse operations and supply chain strategy.
