What do you love the most about the Automotive Technology Program at SIU?

I love that the Automotive Technology Program left me with a vast choice of opportunities not only in the automobile industry, but also in the off road/industrial market.

How has the Automotive Technology Program prepared you for what you do? 

The Automotive Technology Program prepared me for my career by teaching much more than how an engine operates.  Courses involving technical service and writing helped me significantly. 

Give us a snap shot of what you do everyday. 

My day at Power Solutions International as a Customer Support Engineer consists of comprehensive engine troubleshooting for various industrial products, create assembly manuals for current products, and working with our quality team on issues during in house production, and at the customer level.

Any advice for current and future students?

The best advice I can give any student in the Automotive Technology Program is to stay open minded.  Don’t get your mind set onworking for one company or a certain position.  I never thought I would be doing what I am now, but I have never been more happy with my decision. Most of all, interview and intern with as many companies as possible.
